You will be aware of the dire situation in Eastern Ukraine where many people are without homes, electricity or heating, as they go into winter, when temperatures are mostly below freezing.
There is an urgent need for warm winter clothing, both underwear (e.g. Damart style) and outer wear, including old ski clothing and also sleeping bags.
Rotarians across Surrey and Sussex are collecting unwanted clothing to transport to the Ukraine during November. With little clothing left to buy, Rotarians in Ukraine have asked for goods not money.
If you can provide any surplus winter clothing, please collect it in bin bags, separated and labelled between male and female if possible but not essential, and delivered to either St Mary’s or St Peter’s for onward delivery to Ian Coult, a Rotarian who is organising a local collection.
