Loving Lord, Peter recognised you as “the Christ, the son of the living God”. We also believe in you and, in hope and love, bring you ourselves with our dreams and prayers, knowing that you love us beyond anything we can imagine.
We pray for all the leaders of the Church. May they have the faith and courage that they need to proclaim your word to a world which doesn’t always want to listen.
We pray for leaders in local and national governments. May they work with honesty, integrity, and a desire to serve and not to be served.
We pray for everyone affected by the many recent natural disasters. May the injured find healing, the survivors know comfort and support and the rescue services be strengthened for their heartbreaking work. May those who have died be blessed with eternal life.
We pray for peace in families which are torn apart by misunderstanding. May there be reconciliation and a happy end to their heartache and hardship.
We pray for all those who have recently received their exam results. May they be filled with hope and may good mentors accompany them on their journey through life.
We pray for families as they look towards the beginning of a new academic year. May they support each other through the inevitable changes that will come their way.
We pray for everyone who feels happy today. May their happiness grow and spread to everyone they meet.
God of life and love, help us to be one with you and each other, now and forever. Amen.
