Lord, you and your disciples were hungry as you walked through the field and didn’t think twice about nibbling a few ears of corn. We’re hungry for many things and so we come before you today, knowing that you are there for us.
We pray for all religious leaders who hunger for justice and peace. May their words be heard and our world be recreated as a place of hope and cooperation between communities and nations.
We pray for everyone involved in local, national and international governance. May they hunger to work together to build strong communities where people can truly live in harmony.
We pray for voters as we approach the General Election. Regardless of their politics, may those who will represent us in Parliament share our hunger for a just, generous and compassionate society.
We pray for all those who hunger for something to eat. May the world’s resources be generously shared and support found for those who are the most vulnerable. Where hunger is the result of war, may there be an outbreak of lasting peace.
We pray for everyone who hungers for love and companionship. May they find friendship in their loneliness. May community groups continue to provide hope and company to those who need their help.

Lord of life and hope, we hunger for your presence in our lives. Fill us with your love, so that everything we say, think and do will bring us closer to you. Amen.
