Lord, today we focus on hearing your message. Open our ears and make us whole. Help us to try and understand how best to hear what you are saying to us.
We pray for our leaders as they help us to understand that Jesus alone “nourishes the soul”, forgives us for our failings, accompanies us always and gives us strength and peace of heart.
As the new academic year commences, we pray that pupils, teachers, and school communities come together safely and with great hope for a successful year of learning.
As the Paralympics games close today, we pray for all the heroic participants that have triumphed over adversity and shown us the virtues of perseverance, courage, and determination.
Let us pray for those affected by warfare and violence, may their governments work towards providing peace and safety so that their people may live in freedom.
We pray for those who have recently died and for those whose hearts have been saddened by the death of someone close to them. May they be safe in the comfort and knowledge that they will one day meet again in heaven.
We pray for the members of our parish and clergy and take a moment to thank them for all they do to continually nourish our faith life.
We pray now, for our own personal petitions…
Dear Lord, help us to hear your voice in everything we do. We praise you for all your love for us. Amen.
