Bidding Prayers – 19th May

Holy Spirit, come and fill the hearts of your faithful. Hear our prayers we bring before you.

Lord in thy mercy Hear our prayer

As the unemployment rate rose to its highest for a year, we pray for those that are job seeking. May they have the will to keep searching and to find a job that enhances their skillset and gives them direction and purpose.

Lord in thy mercy Hear our prayer

We pray for all those caught up in conflict and especially think of the 1.4 million people that have taken refuge from the fighting from the Israeli-Hamas war – around half of them being children. We pray for their safety and for a future of peace.

Lord in thy mercy Hear our prayer

As The Met Office says UK summers are projected to become hotter and drier due to global warming. We pray political leaders take action to protect our common home.

Lord in thy mercy Hear our prayer

We pray for all those undertaking exams. May their study and hard work be rewarded and may their futures be bright and full of opportunity.

Lord in thy mercy Hear our prayer

This Pentecost, we pray the Holy Spirit will fill our hearts with love and compassion. Let us feel the breath of God upon us today and always.

As the Spring months are upon us, let us pray for a moment for our own personal petitions.

Lord in thy mercy Hear our prayer

Lord God, just as the Holy Spirit became a tangible sign and a new beginning in the lives of the disciples, today, help us to feel the Holy Spirit residing within each of us. Amen.
