Dear Lord, help us to put all our trust in you knowing that we make these prayers through your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
We pray for the 600,000 people around the world that have died from the Coronavirus. As they now rejoice in the company of Christ let us remember their loved ones grieving. May their weary hearts be carried by the kindness and compassion of those supporting them.
We pray for those that are lonely and isolated from society. May they be renewed and comforted with strength from the Holy Spirit to overcome their feelings of seclusion.
We pray for all children, that they may be kept safe and protected. Equip parents and guardians to enable children in their care to thrive by continually encouraging and nurturing their hearts and minds.
We pray to protect nature and the world around us. Help us focus our resources on taking care of our common home. Grant us your grace to lift our voices for lasting change so we may live tenderly on the earth.
We pray for all Christians, as we mark the feast day of St James, let us all be travelling beacons of God’s light and love. Let us hold the faith in unity of spirit and righteousness in life.
Let us pray for a moment for our own personal petitions and remember Bishop John Neale who died on 17th July and was a former Rector of St Peters from 1968-1974.
Father Almighty, we place our lives in your hands and bask in your never-ending love. We make this prayer through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
