Loving Lord, as 2024 closes, we start this Jubilee Year of Hope as Pilgrims of Hope. Confident of your continuing love and your presence in the New Year which lies ahead of us, we bring our prayers before you.
We pray for all religious leaders as they follow our Advent journey. May the encouragement help us to make changes for the sake of the Gospel.
We remember all those involved in local, national and international governance. May they be instruments of God’s peace in a world that has so often been torn by disagreements and warfare.
We remember families on this feast of the Holy Family. May 2025 bring them hope, love, laughter and unity.
We remember everyone for whom 2024 was marked by struggle and sadness. May 2025 be a time of hope and joy, with good answers to unresolved questions.
We remember the men, women and children who still feel the effects of the 2024 tsunami. May they find the peace of mind and the comfort that they still need.
We remember that we are pilgrims of hope to the people around us. May we be compassionate and understanding to everyone we meet.
We look towards the New Year which is so close to us today. As Pilgrims of Hope, may we find hope in even the most unexpected events of 2025 and stimulate hope in others.
Lord of life and hope, we thank you for 2024 and ask you to be with us in 2025. May we truly be Pilgrims of Hope, walking with you in everything that we say, think and do. Amen.
