Bidding Prayers – 4th August

Loving Lord, who told us to work for food that endures to eternal life, we come before you today with our prayers, hopes and dreams for ourselves and for all your people who live in our fragile, beautiful world.

Intercessions

We remember to appreciate “God’s everyday miracles”. May all religious leaders inspire us to value the little things which make life worth living.

We remember everyone involved in local, national and international governance. May they try to serve rather than to be served and to work with wisdom and compassion.

We remember all those whose lives and livelihoods are threatened by natural disasters. May they find shelter, food, water, security and support that they need.

We remember people who are suffering because of warfare and violence. May hostilities end. May their spiritual, mental and physical wounds be healed and may innocent victims, especially children, find hope.

We remember families during the summer holiday season. May they enjoy loving togetherness, safety in their travels and a happy and peaceful homecoming.

We remember all those who are involved in the Olympics and Paralympics. May they be united in peaceful respect, understanding and cooperation.

We remember everyone who is struggling to find a secure home and future for themselves and their families. May they find answers to their questions and the guidance that they might need.

We remember all those who have been affected by this week’s tragic events in Southport. May those who have died receive eternal life, the injured recover, the bereaved find comfort and support and the traumatised find peace. May the community come together to nurture hope and may the first responders be blessed for their compassionate goodness.

Lord of life, fill our hearts with your love and help us to radiate it to others. Be with us in all that we say, think and do. Amen.
