Lord of the Seasons, as we enjoy the longer days and look forward to the summer, we ask you to grant us wisdom to recognise beauty of your creation, and to embrace the interconnectedness of all things.
At the beginning of the summer term, we pray for everyone returning to school after the Easter break – for students, teachers, support staff, carers and parents. We ask God to guide teaching staff in making learning meaningful and enjoyable, nurturing young people who will grow in wisdom and faith.
As the wet weather looks set to continue, we pray for all those adversely affected by it, particularly farmers. Despite the difficulties they face, may they be good custodians of the land, respectful of God’s creation as they provide food for the nation.
We lift up to God all those who are sick or suffering. May they experience the healing touch of Christ and find comfort in the midst of pain. We ask God to grant strength to their caregivers and inspire us to reach out with compassion to those in need.
We take a moment for our own personal prayers…
Heavenly Father, we bring our prayers before you in confidence that you hear us. Grant us strength to face the challenges that lie ahead and wisdom to discern your will in all things. We ask this through your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
