Holy Father, today we hear the story of the last week of your life. We think of the fear and exhaustion you faced. We remember the sacrifice you made and the legacy you left that we base our lives on. Hear our prayers we bring before you.
We pray that the United States does more to protect schools. With 89 US school shootings so far this year, we pray for and remember the victims and their families.
We pray for our common home as people, nature and infrastructure face damaging impacts as climate change takes hold. We pray world governments create legislation to slow the effects for the next generation and the coming years.
We pray for those left behind in Ukraine, including the elderly and infirm and all those living amongst difficult conditions. We also remember the many civilians hiding in underground shelters shielding from the intense shelling.
As we enter Holy week, we turn our hearts to Jerusalem and the Via Dolorosa and pray for all people that are carrying their own cross. May the Holy Spirit walk beside them.
We pray for a moment for our own personal petitions…
Lord, we think of you during this week and remember everything you did for us. Amen.
