Lord God, in today’s Gospel we hear about the seeds that fell to the ground. We would like to think that your seed was sown in fertile soil when it landed in our hearts, but we have our ups and downs. You, Lord, know our inmost souls and you know that we come before you in faith and in hope.
We pray for all religious leaders. May they sow your word in all that they say, think and do so and set a good example to the people whom they serve.
We pray for farmers and growers who face difficulty and uncertainty because of climate change and rising costs to their businesses. May they have the faith and encouragement that they need to continue to supply us with the food that we need.
We pray for catechists and teachers. As they sow the seed of love and life in those who listen to their words, may they find open hearts and the willingness to search for Jesus in daily life and circumstances.
We pray for those who have lost their livelihoods through recent natural disasters, especially in the floods in different areas of the world. May they have the courage and the support that they will need to rebuild their lives.
We pray for families looking forward to summer holidays. May their time together be fruitful, loving and a time of great happiness.
We pray for students waiting for exam results. May the waiting be peaceful, and hope filled. May their results help them to achieve their dreams.
Loving Lord, be with us and with all those who we know and love. Bring us all closer to you, who live and reign in love forever and ever. Amen.
