Heavenly Father, we have been chosen to do God’s work. Help us to recognise our own unique gifts to carry out our own calling. Hear our prayers we bring before you.
We pray for the increasing number of people for whom the cost-of-living crisis is not only making it hard to get by but who are being plunged deeper into existing debt. May they seek the help and support they need to be safeguarded from poverty.
We pray for the people of Ukraine as 18 people die in the recent shopping centre bombing. May the Holy Spirit bless the bereaved and console their families through their grief.
We pray for the many people that have died, and the millions of homes underwater, following huge floods in north-eastern India and Bangladesh.
We pray for all those that dedicate themselves to shining a light on charitable causes. As Dame Deborah James sadly lost her fight this week, we give thanks for her life and all she did to raise awareness of cancer research and her phenomenal fundraising legacy.
We pray for the human tragedy suffered daily by migrants attempting to cross the US-Mexico border. May leaders stop the flow of people by offering safe, orderly, regularised migration.
Dear God, help us to remember that life is the best gift of all. Let us remember the little things that draw us closer to you every day. Amen.
