Loving God, how can we begin to understand the greatness of your love for each one of us? It is beyond anything that we can possibly imagine and, at the same time, so personal that you welcome us and listen to even our unspoken prayers.
We come before the God of our love to pray for all religious leaders. May they help the people of our world to become more loving and compassionate.
We come before the God of our love to pray for all those in positions of leadership, whether local, national, or international. May they work for unity and peace and may they practise their authority in the humble service of the people in their care.
We come before the God of our love to pray for those who do not know God. May people on their journey touch their hearts and lead them to ask questions and, perhaps, to find God.
We come before the God of our love to pray for the seminarians who will be ordained to the diaconate and to the priesthood within the next couple of weeks. May they, like Jesus, wash the feet of the disciples they will meet in their ministry of service.
We come before the God of our love to pray for students who are expecting exam results and big changes in their lives. May the Holy Spirit guide them into a future full of hope.
We come before the God of our love to pray for families as they look forward to the summer holidays. May the increased time together help them to love each other more and more as each day passes.
Amazing God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we celebrate your presence in our lives and ask you to be with us, now and forever. Amen.
